Leather, Parchment and Faux Shagreen

Leather can be used to add texture and feel to a fine piece of furniture.  Mehitabel has covered pieces in leather, used leather strapping as a seating material, woven leather to add interest to a furniture joint and upholstered pieces in leather.

Traditionally, fine parchment was made from goat skin.  Although Mehitabel is experienced in working with parchment, a variety of techniques and materials can also be used to simulate the look and feel of parchment, and still meet customers’ expectations regarding cost.

As a company that supports sustainable practices, Mehitabel will only source and use faux shagreen products.  The Philippines prohibits the harvest of sharks, sea rays and manta rays and Mehitabel supports these prohibitions.
